Quinoa flour

One of the wonders of quinoa is that it can be ground into a flour and used to create a range of gluten free cakes. We're currently working to develop our retail packets of British quinoa flour, but until then you can make it just as easily at home. 

You will need

  • Quinoa grains
  • A coffee grinder
  • A course sieve
  • A fine sieve


Place a small amount of quinoa grain into the grinder and grind until a fine flour. Do this with all of the remaining grain, before passing through the course sieve and re-grinding any large grains. Again, pass the flour through the fine sieve and re-grind any flour that won't pass through. It's hard work but the finer the flour the better the end quality of your cakes.
